O n January 30, Orbeli Analytical Center held a meeting with the delegation led by Kamal Kharrazi, Foreign Policy Advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader and Head of Iran Strategic Council on Foreign Relations. A number of representatives of the Armenian expert community also attended the meeting. Abbas Araqchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs and Mehdi Sobhani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia were also part of the Iranian delegation. 

Referring to the historical and friendly relations between Iran and Armenia, in his speech Kamal Kharrazi, Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of the Strategic Council of Foreign Relations, emphasized the determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran to expand these relations. In his speech he pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in this region and any change of geographical borders is unacceptable for Iran. He also noted that the Iranian side supports the Crossroads of Peace Project by the Armenian Government. 

Furthermore, he confirmed that as the axis connecting the North-South and East-West communication routes, Iran is ready to invest its economic and scientific capabilities in the development and progress of this region.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Kharrazi answered the questions of the Armenian experts.
