“New Regional Realities and the Crossroads of Peace” Expert Conference

O n December 4-6, a three-day expert conference entitled “New Regional Realities and the Crossroads of Peace” organized by Public Relations and Information Center was held. Experts of the Orbeli Analytical Center and other Armenian experts, as well as experts from Iran, India, Georgia and Turkey attended the conference.

 

Within the framework of the conference, the experts who arrived in Armenia met with the RA various high-ranking officials, discussed regional challenges and effective ways to deal with them. Moreover, they participated in a tour to Armenian historical and cultural landmarks.

The conference commenced on December 5th with welcoming speeches delivered by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia; Mnatsakan Safaryan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Gor Tsarukyan, Director of IPRC; Mehdi Sobhani, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, and Nilakshi Saha Sinha, Ambassador of India to Armenia. The Crossroads of Peace initiative, put forward by the Armenian Government, potential political and economic opportunities were presented, on which the present ambassadors and experts expressed their views and visions.


 

Discussions among local and international experts centered on regional geopolitics, economic connections and future infrastructure projects. Mutual interests and regional projects which can be beneficial for various stakeholders were emphasized.
