Meeting Between Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani Experts

A meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani experts was held with the support of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and Russian International Affairs Council in July 15, in Moscow.

The coordination of the participation of the group of experts from the Armenian side was carried out by Orbeli Analytical Center, and from the Azerbaijani side, by the Center for Analysis of International Relations. The experts spoke on their own behalf at the discussion.

The opening speech was made by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrey Rudenko. A number of issues of the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations were discussed based on trilateral agreements between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, such as the unblocking of regional transport communications, border delimitation issues, prospect for peace treaty negotiations, as well as humanitarian issues and the possible steps to build confidence between the sides. There was also a discussion on the role and importance of expert dialogue in the process of normalization of relations between the two countries.

The participants agreed on continuing contacts and joint work within the trilateral expert platform “Dialogue for Peace”.
