O n January 20, experts from the Orbeli Analytical Center and the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research(ECSSR) participated in a webinar discussion titled “New Dynamics in the Middle East. The Future of Syria”. 

During the discussion, experts from both centers shared different views on the ongoing developments in Syria. 


The peculiarities of Turkey, Iran, and Israel's positions on the Syrian issue were presented, as were the main factors determining Armenia’s Syrian policy. Special attention was paid to the issue of the safe life of ethno-religious groups in Syria.  

In turn, Emirati experts emphasized the importance of establishing and maintaining stability in Syria as a prerequisite for the country’s economic recovery.

At the same time, it was stressed that the international community should pay attention to the humanitarian situation in Syria and demonstrate commitment to supporting the country’s socio-economic and political reconstruction. 

The webinar concluded with an agreement to continue holding meetings in this format to discuss other topical regional issues.
